Red Bull Confirms Significant 2026 Driver Roster: Hadjar Steps Up, 18-Year-Old Arvid Lindblad Secures Grand Prix Debut.

Red Bull has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 Grand Prix year, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat.

The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be the partner of Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the sister squad VCARB.

This driver musical chairs means Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid following a five-year stint.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

Lindblad has been identified as a prodigy by Red Bull from the age of 12 years old.

Regarding the company's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", praising his "natural quickness".

The team prepared a programme since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.

The rookie said it was a "proud moment", adding: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and meet the challenge. I can't wait to get started."

He has won a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he crashed during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the stand-out newcomers this season.

His performances included an excellent podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship.

The team principal commented: "Isack has shown great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can succeed next to Max."

Hadjar described it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "ready".

Tsunoda's Exit

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the senior squad but was demoted early in the year. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits more time.

The Japanese driver, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves confirm that there remains no spot on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
